The City of Hood River is located on the Columbia Gorge at the confluence of The Hood River. This area is a mecca of outdoor activity in the Pacific Northwest. The Columbia River Gorge region is a paradise rich with natural splendor. There is something here for everyone.
Windsurfers and Kite Boarders, Hood River has amazing sailing sites on the Columbia River.
Skiers and Snowboarders, you have your choices of Mt. Hood Meadows, Cooper Spur or Timberline. Or check out the snow parks along Hwy 35.
Golfers, Indian Creek Golf Course or Hood River Golf Course
Rock Climbers, there are a couple crags; fifteen to thirty minutes away. Smith Rock State Park, a world-class climbing destination, is two hours South.
Mountain Bikers, take a short ride to Post Canyon. This gorgeous area offers miles of trails, freestyle riding and stunt parks.
Cyclists, Mosier Tunnel Trail is free of mortorized vehicles and has outrageous views of the Columbia River.
Skaters, there is a local free skate park off of Cascade st, across the street from Subway Sandwiches. Also the Mosier Tunnel Trail is a great down hill ride.
